Assess performance of your Unix and Windows Servers.
APG collect and display key performance metrics for different types of servers.
Data collected from the SNMP agent installed on servers can be reported on via the ReportPack for Servers. The SNMP agent can either be
native, such as windows SNMP service, open source or a proprietary solution. When APG is used in conjunction with EMC SMARTS Server
Performance Manager, APG automatically synchronizes topology and data collection, thus eliminating double-polling on the network.
Various predefined reports are available such as: server health, summary reports for a group of servers, capacity planning, topN, exceptions and
inventory. Analysis of performance can also be done using APG’s baselining capabilities. APG can assist forecasting servers’ capacity and
requirements based on previous pattern.
Performance Metrics
- Server availability over time, CPU, memory, swap, file-system utilization, disks, network bandwidth utilization, traffic errors
- Inventory: OS version, interface details, file-systems and disks
- Support for Host-Resource Mib, native SNMP agents, SNMP proprietary agents
Ready-to-use Reports
- Server Health: real-time, historical and projected
- Summary reports: groups of devices or component
- Inventory reports: classification by OS type or business unit
- Hot Spots: file-systems almost full, topN stressed servers…
- Network Inventory: device classification by firmware, model, MAC address search …
- Capacity Planning: baselining deviation analysis and forecasting calculations to automatically detect atypical behaviours and alert on potential risks
- Service Level: check compliance with contracted service levels
