Cross-domain Performance Analysis

Automatic Threshold and Adaptive Alerting

As performance data is collected, APG continuously analyzes, in real-time, thousands of metrics across the whole network, including both system and application components. Any suspicious activity is reported live in the dashboards and can trigger alerts to fault management systems.

Baseline Deviation

This analysis technique compares the current statistics against the historical norm. Using baseline reports, users can detect deviations and generate alerts. The baseline period is fully configurable. The daily baseline is the average of the values measured at the same time on each of the X previous days. The weekly baseline is the average of the values measured at the same time on the same day on each of the X previous weeks.

Correlation between Events & KPIs

APG normalizes and collects data in such a way that time-series measurements are natively correlated with event-based data (network flow, transaction detail, CDR, Fault Notification, Maintenance Periods, help-desk ticket). This feature, which is unique in today’s market, brings powerful capabilities to the APG solution: fast troubleshooting for Operations, unified reports (faults and performance), intuitive navigation between KPIs and Events, etc.

Alerting

Alerts are sent as soon as a problem (current or projected) is detected, using either fixed or adaptive thresholds. The alerting engine can be customized to handle sophisticated alerting conditions, based on KPIs and event patterns & occurrences, multiple thresholds, and time windows, then execute multiple actions based on this, such as traps, email, and running scripts.
